New government funding will boost the networks of eight rural Internet service providers, including five customer-owned ISPs in areas that aren't densely populated enough to attract major investments from big cable companies and telcos.  On Monday, the US Department of Agriculture announced the new loans and grants, totaling $85.8 million.

Local British media is marked by monopolised ownership and a consistent decline in availability and quality. With over 400 members, the Bristol Cable is a local media co-operative bucking the trend through common ownership, challenging investigations and multimedia.

The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) in partnership with the Limpopo Department of Agriculture has launched 19 NYDA-funded and youth-owned cooperatives in Nwanedi Village and Thohoyandou. The agreement that we have with the Limpopo agriculture department is that these young farmers who were assisted by the NYDA will have access to services and programmes of this department in order to improve their production capacity.
