How can you use your own and existing community events to build your co-op during the start up phase?  When’s the best time to do events?  How do you promote them?  How to make sure they come off successfully?  Hear from Kaye Kirsch, who was Project Director for Prairie Roots Food Co-op and built their ownership base over five years from 150 owners to over 1,800 when the store opened by creating a sense of community, centered around local food, all along the way.  Learn about the power of potlucks, local food mystery tours, yard sign blitzes, motivating volunteers, and other ways to engage your community in your new co-op effort.
