Green Top Grocery in Bloomington, IL and Prairie Roots Food Co-op in Fargo, ND had similar development timelines and both opened in 2017.  In spite of very promising start-up efforts, strong ownership and successful capital campaigns, both stores sales were at 50% of projections in the months after opening. This two-for-one case study outlines their similarities and differences, turnaround plans, and has important insights for existing and future co-ops.
