Presenter(s):
Session Location:
Executive Ballroom C

As a community leader and co-founder of an “Up & Coming” urban food cooperative, Pastor Reggie Flynn, founder of the North Flint Food Co-op, has learned there are key strategies, approaches, and practices that have been effective in convincing community leaders to collaborate in embracing the vision to establish a food cooperative in Flint, Michigan.  In this session, the power of the 4Ms approach to unifying community leaders will be shared with session participants.  The 4Ms approach includes an appreciation for the power of community (a unified collection of people) within the framework of your meetings, messaging, mobilizing and movement.  Special attention will be given to approaches and practices unique to reaching the African American faith community, neighborhood organizations and community institutions.
