USDA-RD Names Largest 100 Ag Co-ops for 2010

USDA-Rural Development recently named the largest 100 ag co-ops (by sales) for 2010.  These co-ops reported near record revenue of $118 billion in 2010, a 4 percent increase over 2009.  Net income also increased from $2.16 billion in 2009 to $2.39 billion in 2010.  Leading the revenue increases were dairy cooperatives which saw revenue increase more than 14.5 percent to $29.45 billion.  They also accounted for more than half of the revenue increase reported by the top 100 ag co-ops in 2010.

Congratulations! to four Indiana ag co-ops who made the top 100 list:  Countrymark Cooperative Inc. (#19), Co-Alliance, LLP (#32), Harvest Land Co-op (#78) and Westland Co-op Inc. (#82).  You can view the entire list at  http://www.rurdev.usda.gov/rbs/pub/openmag.htm.
